Spinoff: Cordless Window Treatments?
Somebody mentioned on here once about having window treatments in the nursery that don't have cords, which would make it safer for a crib to be near...
does anyone remmeber this? Or know whta they are called/where to get them/possibly have pics?
and how do they work if there's no cord?
There are 2 windows in the nursery, and I feel like whichever wall I put the crib on, it will be somewhat close to a window...
thanks! :)

Re: Spinoff: Cordless Window Treatments?
We have 3 big windows in the nursery so I was thinking about this too. I was thinking about maybe doing the roll up shades with a nicer curtain in front. I figured they'd be good for making the room nice and dark for daytime naps.

We got our cordless, blackout, pull down blinds from Just blinds
They are great! They literally stay where you stop pulling them or where you push them up to. No cords, keep out the light so DS sleeps later, and they were reasonably priced. We couldn't be happier! HTH!!

Re: Spinoff: Cordless Window Treatments?
My husband and I put these up throughout the house because I am super paranoid about the blind cords. They have all different versions and a large range of prices. If you have normal size windows you can probably just order pre-manufactured ones. We love them. They lift up and down with very little effort. I would just be cautious of going too cheap. My brother put really cheap cellular shades in my nephew's nursery and apparently he has already put his hand through one at 10 months.
Good lucK!!!

I bought Levelor (Sp?) from Lowes...they have no cords and look nice. In the nursery I used sheer curtains over them.

I got great ones at JCP that are blackout -- they weren't cheap, and came to over $100 for two windows.

Re: Spinoff: Cordless Window Treatments?
personally i love cordless honeycomb shades for all windows. they go up and down so easily too and are much easier to dust (with a swiffer or whatever). you can get them pretty much anywhere!

We got the blackout panels from Pottery Barn Kids.

They are great----especially in the summer when it stays light out later....we just close the curtains and the boys go right to sleep.
