I don't have one with me right now but I can later... It is not a big room at all right now I have shaker beige and I love that color, but I want to add color to it.

Is it open to other rooms? What color are the adjacent rooms?

Re: What 2 colors for a dining room
My living room is natural wicker which is a light beige. I am going to change that to a little warmer beige. There is an archway to my dining room, so you see it from the livingroom. My friend that is a interior designer told me if I do 2 colors, to do the darker on top! I told him I was thinking about a burgendy and he said he would do the natural wicker on the bottom. I was also going in between to do natucket gray on top and natural wicker on bottom... I am not sure!!!

Re: What 2 colors for a dining room
I have the darker color above the chairrail as well.
I just visited a friend who had two shades of grey with her chairrail (darker on bottom) and I LOVED it.
Here is my DR and LR... just painted (and I want to paint the windows white as well.)
It is Benjamin Moore Raspberry Truffle on top and Behr Arabian Sand on the bottom.
LR is Benjamin Moore Toasted Wheat on top and Arabian sand on the bottom.

That looks really nice!! I do like the darker on top! I want more of a burgendy color if I decide to do that. Your livingroom colors are beautiful. Did your friend use BM paint? Can you find out the colors? Gray is very plain, but I guess you can add color to pop

Re: What 2 colors for a dining room
I'm sorry, the friend was dog sitting for someone and she didn't know the colors (I already asked for my den!!!) I think the woman who owned the place didn't pick the colors either.
It was a darker grey that had a blueish undertone... I would NEVER have picked it from a paint sample because it looked too dark, but with the lighter greyish color it looked amazing.
I WISH I had those colors!

Re: What 2 colors for a dining room
Hard to say without seeing the space. I have white on the bottom and a red on top. I also love white on the bottom with Navy in a dining room.
When we buy a new house I am already thinking I want a slate blue in the dining room. I would stick with the white on the bottom.
If the space is dark you definately need at least one light color to off-set the darker color.

Re: What 2 colors for a dining room
I copied the colors from this pic I found online. We chose a slightly darker shade on top though but similar to this. We did the picture box molding painted all white below the chair rail, same as the picture. We also painted the ceiling a light tan color. LOVE IT!!

Re: What 2 colors for a dining room
I love blue! But my basement is a blue and my bedroom is a blue also. My whole house will be blue if I do the dining room...LOL! That is really pretty... I love when you paint the celing a color. That color looks like natucket gray which I use to have on my ceiling in my bedroom and I loved it. I will take a pic of my dining room. It is not big at all and I have sliding glass doors going outside. Right now I have the shaker beige and I love it, but I just want color as my living room is natural wicker (another beige) and I am going to change it to a different beige maybe darker (shaker beige in my living room maybe).
Thank you!
