Pre-parenthood Perspectives of IVF Couples

Mildly interesting article on pre parenthood perspectives. Although it's a small sample size and I am not going through IVF (yet?), I can definitely relate to these sentiments.

a lot of it sounds pretty familiar, but i think the most interesting part is the stuff about IVF couples living from appointment to appointment instead of focusing on the future. i wonder if i'll be like this when (if) the BFP comes. right now i imagine my future as a mother all the time. it hurts. i have to stop myself. and these are couples who got pregnant right away through IVF (as opposed to years down the road like me and many of you).

Re: Pre-parenthood Perspectives of IVF Couples

i definitely agree with the fact that I am living appointment to appointment as the article says.

i have a hard time picturing myself as a mother.. or how it will be to have a child...i feel like I am so far from it, that it would be a tease to even have those thoughts...

i can barely tallk about it ..

whereas before we were ttc, i would talk about baby names, where we would send the kids to school, who will have the morning shift or the afternoon shift, who will feed the baby during the night..

i can't think about it right now...

i do hope that when i do get pregnant, I will be able to enjoy those thoughts and that anticipation..instead of worrying about miscarriage every day or not allowing myself or my family/friends to be excited..

-i cant talk about or imagine my life when we have kids. the furthest we get is where will we live, but we've been trying to figure that out for ages. i dont look at baby stuff, i havent bought a baby gift for my cousins's overdue showers, i refuse to think about things we will do with the kid/s in the future... that's pretty much why i dont answer the QOTD on TTC anymore Chat Icon
-"medicalized sex"- UM YES!!!
-taking it appointment by appointment- ABSOLUTELY!
-i know we've talked about this on here before, but i have a feeling when we're all pregnant, we wont be complaining too much!! (except about MS etc lol)
