Who is going to be there when you .....

bring LO home from the hospital? I have a big family and I know they are all looking to be at my house to greet me when I come home from the hospital but I am not too crazy about this idea. It is my first baby so that is overwhleming in itself, plus I will probably be in pain and it will be the first time introducing LO to my two dogs, and I will just be learning how to pump....I just feel like it will be too much to have everyone there and wanted to get your opinions.

While I love our family I'd like for it to just be me, DH and baby when we come home. It will be our first time entering the house as a new family and I'd want that moment for just us -- I wouldn't mind visitors later in the day, though -- maybe after we've been home for a few hours.

We also have a dog too, and I know she is going to be hard to control when we first get home.

I think my parents will be there.. maybe I'll ask them to come the next day. Except for my parents, my inlaws and our siblings, I'm not having anyone over. I'm a germaphobe and my baby is due in November.

It will just be me and DH when we get home. Im sure in the following days our families will want to come by but not without calling first. If I am feeling too overwhelemed I will kindly tell them we do not want guests.

Ideally I would like it to just be DH and I. We also have 2 dogs that we are going to need to intro the baby too and I don't want too many people there exciting them even more (they're large dogs). I'm hoping that we can keep it to that. I know my mom will understand, it all depends on if any of DH's family come into town for the birth.

My dogs also tend to get very excited when we have compnay and I am not looking to have extra stress when just coming home from the hospital. I love my family and I know they all mean well but I think I might just tell them to come over later in the day after we are somewhat settled. I would kind of like to have that first time coming home as a family just for me and DH. Plus the pediatrician told me that since it will be November and lots of germs around that I should limit the baby being around a ton of people and just restrict it to a few for the first 2 months. I know everyone will be excited to see the baby but I would like this to be a relaxing experience and not a stressful one. I just dont want to sound rude if I tell people we arent looking to have visitors.

We live in the upstairs apt from my parents...so we will see them, but I'm sure when we first get home, it will just be me, DH and baby settling into the apt..and if I need my mom/dad/sister , I know they are just downstairs!

I don't even want to think about it or ask right now. I am hoping when we initially get home it will be just DH and I. Once we are settled in I don't mind visitors but I have a feeling this will not be how it happens.

Probably just my parents. DH's will stop by I'm sure but my parents are moving up from FL for a few months since my sis and I are both havign winter babies. They might even be staying with us at that point for a week or so.

Just my DH and my 2 other children. Its too hectic with too many people there.

my parents and DH parents were and that was it. It will be the same this time around probably, but with DS there too!

I would be OK with my siblings or DH too though.

I'm hoping for nobody.

With DD #1- I was so overwhelmed with the amount of visitors I had (in-laws!) and I was in so much pain that I wanted to run away. Instead I laid in my bed and cried while they all sat in the living room oohing and aahing over my daughter.

This time is especially crucial because DD will be introduced to the new baby and I want her to have some bonding time. I will let visitors come- as long as they call first and I okay it.

With DS, when we cam home it was just the 3 of us. A few hours later I invited my parents over.

I'm having the same worries. I have almost convinced DH that the day we get home, it should really just be us, baby and dog. I am going to be overwhelmed as it is - I don't want to have people all over and my dog overly excited the first time she meets our little one (who doesn't seem to want to make his/her grand appearance - yesterday was my due date!).

Im going to insist that nobody else is there when we come home

i'm very private and i strongly feel that this moment of first walking in the house and getting the baby settled is solely for DH and I to share together. I have no idea how exhausted or sore i'm going to be, how stressed we'll both be over the newness of it all.. and the last thing i want is to have family there adding to it all.

if anyone wants to come over, they can come the next day

DH and I will bring DS home, DD will be here and MIL, FIL because they live so close and my aunt who lives 3 hours away, she was a lifesaver when I had DD and was hospitalized. She probably won't stay as long this time though.

The first couple days I am going to say only parents and siblings (and maybe m BFF's can drop in ) but the aunts and cousins who are sure to bombard us will have to wait a couple days!

My mom was there when we were leaving the hospital, but she got into her own car and drove home. She knew I just wanted it to be DH, myself and our new DD when we got to our place. The first night is just surreal that I did not want anyone else there but us.

Dh, me and for the first few hours. I wouldn't mind a visit from the new grandparents later in the day though

With our first 2 sons we spent time just the 3/4 of us alone from the time we got home from the hospital until evening. Then we invited the grandparents over for dinner (that they supply-- bc I sure as heck wasn't cooking! lol)
We plan on doing it again the same way with the 3rd.

Nobody was invited over till late in the day on day 2

We wanted it to be just the three of us on day 1.

im hoping for just my and dh...we also have a very large dog who gets extremely excited when people come over so im looking for it to be as non hectic as possible
