Long Beach
Anyone here live in a house in Long Beach? We've just added this to our list of towns to look at because I saw a few great deals on MLS there. Do you live in the 'bungalow' area or further down Long Beach Road? Do you like the town? Taxes seem really low too - is it due to the revenue LB gets from the beaches?
Any info on how you like it there, etc would be great.
TIA.

Re: Long Beach
My Dad and his wife and their 2 kids lived in Long Beach by the Starbucks. The neighborhood was a little run down but my Dad's wife loved it because it is a city-type atmosphere. The houses are small and the lots are small but it's a nice town

Re: Long Beach
Long Beach is not run down anymore.. Its up and coming and people are buying more here as opposed to renting. My brother in law does real estate down here. fm me if you want his name and number. He is really nice and honest and wont waste your time.
I rent here and I LOVE it!! Once you move here, it is very hard to leave. Certain parts of Long beach are better thanothers, like in many towns. But it is a great area all around- whether is be the West End- bungalow style or East End. many bungalows are being bought and people are raising them to two levels...

Re: Long Beach
I grew up in Long Beach and so did Mrswask.... I lived one block away from the west end bungalows, she lived in the east end. FM us if you have any questions. In my opinion the houses are there are VERY expensive, the taxes are low in some houses because they are on small plots... Bungalows are usually only 30 X 60... The problem with that area is the houses are very small, the parking is terrible especially in the summer, and you have no yard. But that is a sacrifice you make to be a few blocks away from the beach. It is a really great town. They began a beautification of Long Beach program a few years ago and if you look, a lot of the businesses have renovated their appearance. Right now I am not living in long beach because DH and I are trying to save $ to buy a house (in Long Beach) But I am there almost every other day...
