Re: How many bottles do you need?
my DS is 7 weeks and right now i have 4 going in rotation. it was a starter kit so it was 2 4oz bottles and 4 8oz bottles but i only sterilized the 4 oz ones and 2 of the 8oz ones. i have 8-10 more bottles not being used of the 8oz size. i registered for that many because i wanted to be able to rotate them so they dont get too yucky

Re: How many bottles do you need?
Started with 8 and quickly added 4 more to the batch. Now added 4 more since DD will be off to my Mom's as of Monday when I go back to work. I hand wash and sterilize in boiling water after each feeding, so I needed a good stash otherwise that's all I would do all day!! She eats about every 3-4 hours during the day.

Re: How many bottles do you need?
DS has had 6 feeds per day since we came home from the hospital and I've been using 8 bottles. That allows me to load the dishwasher at night before bed, empty it in the morning, and still have clean bottles for the late night/early morning feeds.
eta: We use born free. I have 8 of the 6oz bottles and 8 of the 9oz bottles. The 9oz are still in the closet, we're just using the 6oz now.

We are going to be using Born Free. I bought a kit of 4 and am going to wait to see if my DD likes them before I buy more. I have a ton of the enfamil nursettes all ready to go as well.

Re: How many bottles do you need?
Don't buy a lot of any bottle until you know that they work for your LO. I learned that lesson the hard way. I have about 12 playtex drop in bottles sitting in my closet now.
If you go to Target they sell singles of Dr. Browns, Avent, Born Free and a few others.
Try a bunch and see which one works for you and your LO.

Re: How many bottles do you need?
If you are using just bottles and not nursing..for the night feedings do you have a warmer in the baby's room? I saw portable ones in the store and I am getting confused. For example using nursettes, bigger ones and it's 3am? stupid things I worry about
