Do ants cause wood shavings?
I posted a while back about a huge black ant I saw in the bathroom. Recently I have seen a couple of small wood shavings on my sink windowsill, does anyone know what this could be from? My kitchen is gutted so I don't see any ants/bugs so I don't know what it could be.
I have a contract with Suburban but they have a different contract for carpenter ants which I know will be $$$

Sounds like carpenter ants. They eat wet damp wood....so they love kitchens and bathrooms.

yes I am having such a problem with them t6his year too! we had a leak so the basement ceiling drop ceiling had these wood shavings i sprayed and put ant trap the basement is clean but now they are all over my kitchen and bedroom which is above the leak!!
hate to use exterminator anyone know about how much they are?

Don't let it go!!! They ate clear through a 2x4 in my bathroom wall and the wall was caving in. My bathroom had to be gutted.

We have them all over our deck. I just noticed them. Call an exterminator right away. I had an estimate on Friday for $550 and I have another man coming in tomorrow who said $495. I am not sure who I am going with yet but carpenter ants can do damage, if they are in your house, I would call right away.
