Celebrity Cuise Line
I have been on 2 Celebrity cruise ships but I went as the babysitter so I didn't get to explore the ship or anything by myself.
DH and I are looking into this cruise line with a bunch of other couples. We are all in our late 20s, early 30s, what is the atmosphere like?
Pros? Cons?
Thanks in advance for your responses!

Re: Celebrity Cuise Line
Overall, Celebrity is my favorite cruise line, mostly on account of the food. I think it's the best!!
I also love the fact that they aren't constantly making announcements about what's going on on the ship, and there aren't always a ton of contests and things going on by the pool. It's definitely a more relaxed environment.
I also find it to be a bit of an "older" crowd. If you're looking for a party boat, I wouldn't recommend Celebrity. But, another benefit of that is, I've never had a problem getting a lounge chair by the pool, or having tons of kids running around me while trying to relax. And the last one I went on, the majority of the ship had the early sitting for dinner (we had the late) so we were able to hang it in the hot tubs, alone, before dinner, and pretty much have free rein of the ship after dinner.

Re: Celebrity Cuise Line
We're not trying Celebrity until November but it seems like everyone on the roll call on cruise critic is at least in their 40s.

Re: Celebrity Cuise Line
We are going in about 2 weeks. It is the first time for us with our girls - but I have been on celebrity about 11 times (also cruise on NCL a long time ago and done 2 on Princess). I have elite status with their captains club.
I would say a lot of it will depend on when you go and what itinerary. You will find the age of the cruisers goes up considerably when you pick things like transatlantic cruises or 14 night and longer ones. You will have younger cruisers with shorter (7night) cruises and those to places like Bermuda, or Caribbean.
Celebrity is a lot of pampering/service. Things like champagne when you board, cold towels when you come back on board etc. Little extras like that. They also have things like aqua class, and concierge class that give little extras without being in a suite.
I'm in my mid 30's and DH and I enjoyed our cruises with them. If you are looking for a lot of nightlife you might want to consider RCCL or Carnival. Celebrity does have night life and activities but they are a bit more low key. Not to say you can't have a great time we always did - just I hear from friends who have sailed both RCCL and Celebrity it is a lot more things like pushing drinks, more activities like rock climbing etc.
FM if you have specific questions. Also check out cruisecritic.com -
What ship and itinerary are you looking at? I will say being able to go from Bayonne if you choose one of those is a bit Plus.

Thank you so much! We are looking at leaving in April from FL...(we've looked at so many, it is hard to keep track of them all). I believe the two ships we are looking at are newer, 2007 & 2010. I think one is called Epic, and not sure of the other name. We were also looking into purchasing their drink packages, is it worth it?
Amenities like going to the spa and stuff cost extra, correct?

If you are looking at the the Epic I think that is NCL. Otherwise the celebrity new large ship is the Silhouette - and I think that is sailing from NJ this winter/spring but I haven't checked. That is their new ship and it looks fabulous!
Well cruisecritic.com if you go under celebrity - you will find some spreadsheets and they break it down. You would have to look at how much you would drink to see if it would be worth getting. It also depends on what you drink as well. There are non alcoholic packages and alcoholic ones. If you want to drink in your room you either pay for those drinks or you would have to go to one of the bars and order your drink and bring it back to the room as it doesn't include room service. Cruisecritic has more recent prices so you can see how much drinks cost. Remember on top of the drink fee there is a 15% service charge so make sure to add that in.

Re: Celebrity Cuise Line
I saw that you were looking at Bermuda? If so do you mean the Summit? We are doing this cruise very soon so I can let you know all about it. The only thing is if you are thinking of April - I don't think that is such great Bermuda weather time. Bermuda is far north so I think you are better to consider it from June to Aug or Sept. They do go in May but it tends to be very cool still. Remember that it is 2 sea days down and one back - so that could be very cold those sea days and you would not be able to enjoy the outside areas - although Celebrity does have a nice indoor pool in the spa area that is for 16 or 18 and up only. But it isn't a "fun" type pool more for relaxing only.

You are correct, the Epic is NCL and we are looking into Bermuda. The only draw back is that I am a teacher so my availability during the school year (which is opt. time to cruise) is limited.

If you are limited to April I would say stick to the Caribbean over Bermuda. Otherwise, if you want to go to Bermuda - I would wait until school is out and go July or August.
Check out this thread - the weather in Bermuda in April is 60's low 70s so I don't think it will be swimming weather. http://www.bermudaweather.bm/aprall.asp
