Cooking boneless pork chops - how long?

I was searching for boneless pork chop recipes and came accross one that sounded nice nd simple. But they say for 1" they take about 3 minutes on each side in the pan. Does this sound right? I cook pork chops often (although typically in the oven or in the pan if sliced thin) and this seems like not enough time.Chat Icon

It depends on the thickness.

For the "thin cut" ones, you only need a few minutes.

For regular cut ones I do about 6-7 minutes per side.

That's what I do!

For 1", I start with 7-8 minutes per side. Then flip them again over for 2-3 minutes per side again.

I hate that thick because it's harder to cook.

I like the "regular" thickness.

I dont know why I believed the people who reviewed the recipe. Shoulda gone with my gut (and you two aboveChat Icon ) I cooked them for FOUR minutes each side and they were completely undercooked....I kept hearing Gordon Ramsey in my ear..."AGHHHH...ITS F&$%ING RAW. HOW DARE YOU SERVE ME RAW PORK."Chat Icon

I dont know how you were planning on cooking them but the recipe I used was simple and they would have tasted great and juicy (nothign like dry hockey puck pork chops Chat Icon ). Just salt and pepper them and dredge in flour. Saute in melted butter and olive oil. Would make them again this way...just will cook them longerChat Icon
