I POAS for the first time at 8dp3dt (11dpo, basically) and it was a faint positive. You can check out my album.

I POAS'd 5dp 3dt and got a super faint BFP. At 7dp, I got a + on the digital.

I am one of the very few that never POAS ever. I never thought about it till I joined this board. I had a friend who told me to test the day before my beta but I didn't. We had so many BFN that I didn't think we would ever get that BFP but what a phone call I had when the doctor called to tell me I had that BFP. I was beyond surprised. I finally POAS about 11 weeks into my pregnancy.

I'm considering POAS the day before my beta. Mostly b/c my DH will be away when I get my beta so I figured this way he could be with me if we get a BFP. I would be 9dp5dt.

Last cycle, I POAS at 6dp3dt and got my first faint positive. By 8dp3dt it was very dark.
Mine turned out to be a chemical (my beta was 27 on beta day at 16dpo and only ultimately ended up going to about 150)
I think this cycle, I might try and wait until beta. The rollercoaster of seeing a positive and then finding out it wouldn't be a viable pregnancy was SO painful. If I had waited until beta day, I would have known that my number was low and I shouldn't get excited.
Just my input - and I say this now - all might change once I'm halfway through the 2ww!
