Tried to make my 1st app't with an re..but
I have to call them back because they needs DH social security number too? Does anyone know why they need that info.
The girl said they were super busy and kind of rushed me off the phone...i swear i hate all doctors offices!!!

Are you under his insurance? Other than that maybe they just want some general info.
I'm a nut though and know Dh's social. I also know my Mom's, dad's, brother's, etc. Just in case because you never know!

maybe it has something to do with verifying his insurance? i dont remember them asking me that over the phone- only on the paperwork i filled out when i got there.

He is actually under my insurance. He isn't expected to be there - is he? My DH works a million hours a week..UGG!!!!!!!!

no, usually the first appt is just a consult and if anything they will just do blood and sono for you and give him a script for a sperm ananlysis

It was really helpful to me to have DH at the first appointment. They did his bloodwork in the office that day (I'm sure you could get a script for that). It was a lot of info to absorb and go over family histories.

I needed to supply all DH's info too but I figured it was because he was having bloodwork and semen analysis done through my RE and of course they would need to submit the claims through his insurance - which we are both on. That may be why they needed your DH's SS#

Ugh..I really just want them to check ME out for now....I'm definitely not ready to start any kind of treatments just yet. Would want to wait until i have at least tried on my own for 6 months. My DH already thinks i'm overreacting and i'm just not getting AF because i'm stressed out, so getting him to go for blood and sperm analysis at this point is going to be a struggle.
Should i even be making this app't yet, if we aren't ready to start any treatments??????

Did you find their ss# on the internet?  because if it's at all possible to find it via to web, I know you would find a way

They wont make you do anything you're not ready to do! Still go so you can figure out if there's anything wrong. Then you can make an informed decision abotu a course of action!

This is correct. One other reason a nurse at my RE told me is that they've had issues where one man is going with two separate women (a wife and a girlfriend) without them knowing and they want to clearly identify the guy b/c the RE won't do this. And they've had women come in first with DH and then come back with boyfriend to use his sperm! Crazy what people do!! So, they want SSN to clearly identify all patients and ensure they're only treating one man/woman combo!

They needed all this information from us as well. I figured it was for insurance purposes. I am making my DH come with me, as he is big part of the process.
