freezing bagged shredded cheese
anyone do this? How did it defrost?

I do this all the time, just let it defrost in the fridge or on the counter ahead of time

yup ... bought a huge bag from costco (4 lbs, i think) and split it into 1 lb freezer bags ... put it in the refrigerator the day before we needed it - tasted fine ... lasted maybe 2 or 3 months, i think ...

I only keep my shredded cheese in the freezer. It defrosts perfectly!

I do this all of the time. I buy pretty much all of my shredded cheese from Costco & BJs so I have to freeze it b/c there's so much. And honestly, a lot of the time I don't even defrost it. I'll throw a handful into an omelette and it'll defrost while it's cooking.
