Tahiti / Bora Bora/ Moorea / Le Taha'a - advice?

Planning an April trip for our 10th anniversary. I read through a 65 page thread on LIW, but I'm still soliciting opinions.

I know there are plenty of posters who went for their honeymoons. What did you like? not like? What would you do differently? Hotels?

Islands to visit / islands to skip? Leaning towards a split between Moorea and Bora Bora, but intrigued by Le Taha'a too.

Looks like we can use miles for business class flights so I can splurge on hotels/excursions - what did you LOVE?!

Thanks in advance for the tips!

Def try to split between Moorea and Bora Bora they were beautiful.... I am partial to Bora Bora b/c we spent 3 days in a hut over the water there and it was AMAZING!!! I did a cruise and stop at Le Taha'a and that was really nice as well.

It will be the most relaxing vacation ever! You are able to rent a car at Bora Bora and drive it around the island in like 1 hour! I totally recommend you do to get the island experience.

If you have any questions feel free to FM me

We went to Bora Bora and Moorea. I liked Moorea better but they are both beautiful. Definitely do a shark feeding tour and go to Bloody Mary's!

We did Tahiti for 2 nights at the Sheraton. Didn't explore it to much. The first night we slept

We went to Moorea Pearl Resort. This was our fave. You can walk into town and eat at the local restaurants and it was just beautiful.

Then went to Huhanie (sp?) A little outdated but the biggest hut. It was ok. Very old town. You can take a water taxi into town but not much to do in the town a few shops. The beach was nice. I can't remember the hotel name.

Then Bora Bora, ahhhh Bora bora. We stayed at the Regis hotel, they filmed Couples Retreat there. It was by far the newest and most beautiful hotel. There's a lot to do there and its huge. It was expensive but what a beautiful island.

Def do over water huts. They were amazing!

We did The Tahiti Sheraton, Moorea Pearl and the Bora Bora Pearl.

I actually would have liked to explore Papeete a little more, so I would have added a day there. We took the ferry from Papeete to Moorea instead of flying, as most people do, and I thought it was a fun thing to do.

I loved the shark and stingray feeding, and the jeep tour of Moorea. The jeep tour stops at a distillery that produces a vanilla liquor that's delicious- it was my favorite souvenir!

We went scuba diving on Bora Bora, which we really enjoyed.

We didn't stay in Tahiti, we went straight to Moorea for 5 days. Stayed at the Sheraton, went on a shark feeding/scuba diving - a must in my opinion.

Then we went to Bora Bora for 5 days, stayed at the Intercontinental Bora Bora - it was great, loved it, but we spent one day at the Intercontinental Thalasso Bora Bora and it was amazing! GREAT spa, beautiful pool, beach, etc. The Thalasso is a more modern feel/furnishings etc. The regular Intercontinental was more traditional pacific island looking - nice, but if you like a more modern feel, I'd go for the Thalasso.

We ADORED Bora Bora. Wish we had done less days in Moorea and more in Bora Bora.

We also went with the meal plan (breakfast and dinner) at each resort. Saved us money and was very convenient. We did go out a couple of nights (once to Bloody Mary's - a must, great food, relaxed atmosphere).

If you decide to go to Bora Bora, you must go to Bloody Mary's & La Villa Mahana. If you like nature, I would stay in an over the water bungalow at Moorea as opposed to bora bora b/c it was just more natural. We did Albert Tours in Moorea and loved it! (The full day swimming with the shark/sting ray tour). We also did the ATV tour with Albert Tours in Moorea (absolutely loved that too). I'm so jealous! I want to be in your shoes right now!

Re: Tahiti / Bora Bora/ Moorea / Le Taha'a - advice?

we went to tahiti for our honeymoon as well. like the pps have said, go to bloody mary's. i had their mako shark and it was delicious. arguably one of the best meals i've ever had.

if you go to the main island, go to le belvidere, which has amazing views of the island.

don't leave without getting the national dish, poisson cru (ceviche-like)

some other things we did-

visited the paul gaugin museum
rented a scooter to go around the island
of course the outdoor/water stuff like snorkeling, canoeing, etc.

we visited tahiti, moorea and bora bora. we loved all three for different reasons.

have fun! it's a dream trip!
