The Baby on Board Signs for cars...
What do you think of them? Do you drive more cautiously around the vehicle if you see one in the window? Do you think that it makes a difference to others on the road?
I was thinking about this this morning when I was driving to work on the highway and this a-hole was driving so close to my bumper I thought he wanted a ride with me. I thought to myself, I wonder if he knew I was preggo or had a baby in the car if he would drive the same way?
So I thought I'd ask on here....

I am not a fan of them. I also don't think people drive differently when they see them.

I agree. I laugh cause it makes me think of when my mom had one in the 80's. To be honest, I dont even notice them while driving, only at stop lights.

wow.. that was quite entertaining! can't wait to head over to the Parenting board soon!
to answer the OP.. no, i don't think they make a bit of difference at all. I don't act any differently because i see one, and to be honest, i don't think I even notice them half the time anyway.
i think a good rule of thumb is to drive cautiously no matter who is in a car around you.

Idiots will still tail gate you even if they see the sign on your window.
One day I was going 65 and DD was in the car on sunrise, I couldn't move into the other lane just yet when the jerk that was literally up my butt swerved into the other lane and proceeded to ride very close to my car and I rolled DD window down and to let the other driver/female know I had a toddler in my car. Do you know the $itch had the nerve to swerve into my lane and stare at me while doing it.
I wasn't the only car she was doing this too.

OMG... that thread was AWESOME! lololololol. I really don't get people's thinking sometimes. Scary...
I personally DO drive slower when I see someone with a baby on board sign or a car seat with a child. So, yes, I am going to put one in my car. Although, sometimes I don't get why some of them - or any "slow" drivers - insist on driving in the "fast" or "passing" lane. It could potentially cause more accidents since people have to pass THEM on the right. But I digress...

I agree with this...I drive safe 98% of the time to begin with, but when I see a sign like that, I do make sure I'm not being an idiot, that I don't forget to signal if I'm switching lanes, etc...
Also ITA that just because you have the sign on your car doesn't mean you should drive like an idiot and expect ppl to "bow down" because you have a baby inthe car....if you want to drive in the left lane w/a baby in the car, by all means go ahead, but not going 50mph!

I drive safe regardless, but i do have more patience, when I see the sign and they are going slower than normal, i "get" it.

Agree. DH got one when we had DS for the car and I HATED it. I kept taking it off and throwing it on the floor of the car telling him it wouldnt suction and it kept falling off. Eventually he gave up and stopped trying to figure out why it kept falling off, LOL!
