Glass Mosaic Tiles?
What do you guys think of a glass mosaic border in a bathroom? I love the look but am afraid it will look dated in a few years. Thoughts?

Re: Glass Mosaic Tiles?
I just did something like that in my bathroom. I'll try to get a pic in a minute to show you. I love it and feel like it gives it a spa feel. I didn't do all glass mosaic, and I don't think it'll be "dated" in a few years.

Re: Glass Mosaic Tiles?
It's still not complete...we need to paint and add some finishing touches, but here are a few pics that show the mosaic. In the shower, we did 2 strips of mosaic, with the lower strip running throughout the bathroom.
Ok...for some reason, I can't get them to post, but I put them in my album.

Re: Glass Mosaic Tiles?
That looks great! Thank you! I am doing subway tile as well. Are your tiles tumbled marble? I love the look of your tiles but I couldnt find ones like that in ceramic or porcelain and I didnt want to seal the tumbled marble every year. My tiles are very similar, maybe a little darker. Where did you get the mosaic from? I am looking at Home Depot today because I dont feel like going back to the tile store.
Also, are your fixtures chrome or brushed nickel? Thanks again!

Re: Glass Mosaic Tiles?
The subway tile are tumbled marble in the color chiaro, and I got it from Lowes ($4.48 sq foot). I also got the mosaic from Lowes (about $10 sq foot). They don't have to be sealed every year, but maybe every few years and it is so easy that I could do it. Ours were sealed before the grout, and then again 3 days after the grout.
For the floor, we used 12x12 tumbled marble in the color noche. It's just a tad darker and has a nice contrast.
We really wanted brushed nickel for the hardware, but the shower head contraption would have been almost an extra $800!! So, we decided to do chrome and it actually looks really nice.
Here's the thing with the tumbled marble...I had to go through every.single.box to weed out all the bad tiles. There were so many that were broken/had deep holes/discolored. I know that's how it's supposed to be bc it's natural stone, but I wanted them to be as smooth as possible. It took forever, but it was so worth it. My mom did the same for her bathroom and it looks great too.
I love my new bathroom!

Re: Glass Mosaic Tiles?
Too funny! I loved those same tiles at Lowes but was too afraid to do tumbled marble b/c of the maintenance. I am really bad at maintaining, LOL!!
I am getting a spa shower set like yours and I dont want to pay all of the extra $$ for the brushed nickel either! Glad to know you love the chrome b/c that is what I am getting too. In the picture I wasnt sure if it was chrome or nickel.
Thanks again!!!!!!!!!

Re: Glass Mosaic Tiles?
We did a black and white bathroom with subway tiles and a glass mosaic. I only have pics on this computer of the reno, not the completed project, but you get the idea:

Re: Glass Mosaic Tiles?
I hope its not going to be dated after the amount I spent on tiles! Mine is much different than the others but its still a glass mosaic.
