Super Excited to Move But...

I can't help but feel kind of sad. We are moving from our 2 bdrm Apt. to our new home. It was our first Apt together, and we were so excited to be finally living with each other and to decorate our place. We had our 1st baby and all her milestones took place there. Even though we hated the place because it was so small, the parking sucked and had 2 kids running above our heads I will miss the memories that were made in our 1st Apt and I will miss living in Queens too. Not sure why i wrote this but Just feel like venting it out and see if others felt like this.

I felt the same way too, but guess what....that first morning you wake up and hear nothing but silence, and your dd is still asleep, and you realize you can just roll over and go back to sleep, you won't feel so sad anymore. And besides DD gets to reach new milestones in this house. !!! Suggestion though: The day you move in, pick a place hidden (I did each of their closets) and made a pencil mark of how tall they were, the date, and their age when we moved in. So when they get older they have this.

We are going through the same thing and feel the same way. We have always complained about our Condo - mostly the parking and the loud kids running around upstairs (for 12 straight hours a day!!) and we finally sell it and now feel so sad to be leaving. DS's first room was there and we have lived there together for 4 years... and worse, we are renting until we find a house so we don't even have a house to look forward to yet.. However, I am really excited to start this new chapter in our life as a family.. and finally have a bigger place (and soon an even bigger house) to have more babies!

I could have written what you wrote word for word. Dh and I really loved our apt. but after 4 years, we were completely done with Queens (we are both originally from LI). By the end, we were really ready to move.

We were over the hoards of people, noise from neighbors, crazy drivers, strange smells, jets flying overhead (we were near LaGuardia), tenants below who smoked, traffic, endless honking (we were near a no-stop sign intersection), polluted air, no yard for DC, etc. The pros of moving soon outweighed any wistful memories!

we just moved, i had very bad anxiety over it.
we had a lot of milestones in that old placetoo.
it didnt get better when we did move but i can say we have been here for almost 2weeks and its getting better.
