Remodeling-How much deposit did you put down?
If you had a big remodel or extension done recently, could you share how much deposit you put down before the work began?
Just trying to get an idea whether the payment schedule our chosen contractor has sent us is the norm for LI.

For our dormer, I want to say less than 10%, maybe 5% and then chunks along the way.
We got a schedule (numbers made up here) that we followed along the way. For example
Framing - $10K
Sheetrock $10K
Electrical work $5K

Thanks! 10% deposit was what we had in mind too. Our contractor wants 45%  that's not going to happen..

He wants 45% of your money before he starts??? Who's to say he doesn't run with it? That's crazy!
