Does anyone know if there is anything I can do in the situation?? HELP
We have been trying to close on our house for weeks now and we keep getting postponed. Apparently our buyers are using a lawyer thats a friend and he's totally incompentent. There are many clear examples of mistakes he's made but this last one could potentially lose the deal.
He allowed his clients to close on the sale of their house without being close to closing on their purchase. The buyer works from home, but to do so she needs special equipment installed so she can't work while she is living whereever temporarily. Due to his last mistake we could be postponed another 2 --3 weeks and she will lose her job. No job - no loan - no sale!
So here's the problem - the lawyer forgot to order the municipal search. The search is required because it is a FHA loan. Every lawyer on the case called the town to ask if they could rush it and the buildings guy responded "the girl who types them is on vacation this week and I'm on vacation next week."
If our buyer is out of work for 2 - 3 weeks she will lose her job. No job = no loan. I can't believe this is happening. Can a town do that? Just hold everything up so the staff can all go on vacation? While it's not their fauilt the lawyer forgot to order them and now we are up against the clock - can they hold us hostage to vacation time???
Please help me! It's been a year and I don't want to lose this deal
