Do you clean up before a cleaning service?
I am having a cleaning service come to our house for the first time ever over the weekend. Am I nuts to be cleaning before they come so that they don't think we are big slobs  Do you just tidy up and put things in place or do you do more than that?

I dont have cleaning service but if I did I would straighten out any papers/ bills etc and things that would get in the way of cleaning- like shoes on the carpet

Yes I straighten up before the cleaning lady comes. I try to organize papers, put toys away, pick up dirty laundry, etc...
My cleaning lady would take care of this stuff but I would rather her dust and clean then be putting away my stuff.

I straighten up and remove clutter, but I don't clean. I just want to put clothes or papers or whatever away so that she CAN actually clean the furniture, vacuum the rugs, etc. I don't want her to spend her time moving my stuff around, and I also don't want her to put things away where I can't find them!

This is what I do
i do it so they don't feel like they have to put things away (and subsequently put them in the 'wrong' place)
its just easier for me to do it myself
