How do you wash and dry your towels?
Everything down to literally how do you WASH and DRY them...... because something I'm doing is ruining my towels and I'm not sure what!!!
I put them in the washing machine on the "bulky" setting and wash them in warm water ... Then in the dryer I put it on high otherwise it never dries (and it still takes a while) ...
Is there something wrong with my machine? My clothing seems to come out fine as far as I can tell ... it's really just the towels that are taking a beating

I put my towels on normal cycle, cold water and I dry them on normal cycle. I have no problems with my towels.

Your "bulking" setting maybe adding too much water to the cycle so in turn it takes too long to dry.
Try it on a normal cycle and a regular dry

My washer and dryer both have a setting for towels. I just use that.

normal cycle. I also don't overload the washer and put it on medium load.

maybe it's the towels themselves? are they new (or old)? i use the heavy duty setting on the washer and high heat on dryer. no problems.
or is your washer old? my MIL's washer used to eat towels...

I do the normal cycle, cold water, detergent in first. I put them on the cotton cycle for drying.

The machines are fairly new... The previous owner got them, though I'm not sure when. I'll have to ask my DH. The towels are also new.
Thanks ladies!!  I'm doing normal cycle next time .. I just assumed towels needed "bulky". I'm really trying to get better at being domestic  My laundry skills need improvement

I wash my towels on normal setting then dry them on the extra dry cycle.

Is it possible that your dryer is getting too hot? Maybe try a medium setting for a longer period of time?

Normal large cycle, hot water bleach and tide.
Dry on med. Never any issues.

I wash mine on a super size load (we have a pool and I always have towels to wash) on "normal cottons". Cold water...tide and then a a downy ball...
Dry it on "easy care" which is medium heat and i've never had an issue.

Det & fabric softner
Line Dry outside or in depending on weather.
10 min touch up in dryer on high heat.
*no rips no strings no shrinkage*
