Well, I totally lost it tonight--Long, sorry!

I'll be glad to put this day behind me! AF is due Sunday. Pre-infertility drugs, she used to appear 12-13 dpo. Post-infertility drugs, she likes to toy with me and has come between 16-20 dpo!

Anyway, like I was saying, she's due Sun. which would mean I start IVF drugs Monday night. This is my first IVF cycle, and my insurance only covers one. So I started to panic b/c that same wonderful insurance makes me get the drugs from Freedom, overnight mail. What if AF came Sat? Fed Ex doesn't deliver on Sun. So dr. and I decided to test today and if negative, order drugs for tomorrow. Which is what I did. Freedom calls me at 6:30 to tell me dr prescribed Follistim (dr faxed RX LAST WEEK!!!) and it's not covered, Gonal-F is. They need a new prescription. I call the emergency number and the dr. on call called them with the new RX.

I get a call at 8:45 that they got the new RX, but it's too late, the truck already left, so I won't get the Gonal-F with the rest of my shipment tomorrow. I start to panic. So when, Monday? No. Tuesday. It's refrigerated and if they sent it out tomorrow, it wouldn't be refrigerated Sunday.

I just had a total meltdown. Total. DH called Freedom for me and worked something out with them so we can hopefully get an "Emergency" supply from the local pharmacy tomorrow am. But the stress just opened the floodgates. Everyone scolds me for putting pressure on myself and stressing about this, so I try to stay calm, and then there's all this nonsense on top of the hormones and the devastation and the stabbing pain every time I see a pregnant woman.

So that was my night. Thanks for listening! I know Pennycat's profile said BFP or Psych Ward.....I'm right there with ya!

P.S. And yes, all this freaking out could be for nothing because AF could play with my emotions and be delayed.

you dont have to suppress before your IVF cycle?? most people dont start stims right off of a BFN from a previous medicated cycle. even if you i'd be surprised if your doctor didn't agree that starting one day late would be fine.

First of all and yessss sticky BFP or I will commit both of us!!

I have absolutely been in similar situations where I needed drugs last minute, before Freedom could deliver them!! Of course LIF donations/borrowing, etc. is one option .. but they WILL get the prescription sent to a local pharmacy and get you the dosages you need until Freedom can the ship them to you!! I had that happen a few times!!

On a similar note.. I just gotta say, I you don't have to deal with pharmacy aggravation because it could be a HUGE pain... but listen to what happened to me once-

I ordered more viagra suppositories in my last IVF cycle. I needed them the following day, but since Freedom does next day deliveries, I figured it was perfect. Well, it arrived and when I opened the box, I saw they sent out the WRONG suppositories!!! I freaked out and called the pharmacy (okay that's a lie, I was too angry so I had my DH call to read them the riot act! ) and they had Kraupners come THAT NIGHT to send the suppositories I needed and then Freedom sent the rest. It was a real headache but in the end it worked out. I just thought I'd share... you are soooo not alone here in pharmacy stress!!

Oh- and a tip! Make sure you tell Freedom to deliver your drugs priority with Fedex and/or on double ice. In this heat, they sent out my drugs a few weeks ago with UPS. It arrived at 7 all HOT on melted icepacks. My suppositories were completely melted, it was disgusting. I immediately called and they were very accommodating... sent a new shipment out the next day... and emailed me a return label for the spoiled meds.

kraupner did the same for me- I needed ovidrel that night and they sent it to me until freedom could send it me 2 days later. Hope you got it!

Thanks so much, ladies!!! I have decided I will not stress over this nonsense....so DH can talk to the pharmacy! Haha! I'm so nice. But hey, I'm the one getting poked and prodded, right???

Anyway, AF didn't show today, which was excellent. If she shows tomorrow and I'm supposed to start Monday, I can either see if the dr has a little I could "borrow" or if not, DH can freak out on Freedom and make them let me get it from the local pharmacy. So things aren't as bad as they seemed yesterday.

Thanks so much for the support, ladies. Most of the time, I feel so alone in my desperation, and you ladies always make me feel better--and give really good advice and info, too! Thanks!!!!!

Have you spoken with your doctor? Like Flowerwife said, it's very likely that you'll need to go on BCP for 3 weeks before starting stims so the meds should be no trouble at all (you can get your BCP from any pharmacy like CVS or whatever).

If you need to freak out, freak out!!! there have been studies about stress and success rates of IVF. Stress has no affect on the results and honestly, sometimes I think it's healthy to stress out a little bit! or to at least let it all out in the way of a meltdown. I had plenty of freak out sessions and total meltdowns and I still got a BFP! Good luck!
