Life just keeps throwing lemons at me....
I cant deal with this stress anymore. I am going to lose it. I just want to run away.
First, my grandmother, who is 80 and suffers from severe dimentia, broke her hip. Doctors said she wouldnt survive surgery and if she did she would be on life support. She has many other medical problems.
She lived with us growing up, and while she was a PITA, we were always close. Seeing her so "not there" is heartbreaking. She is doing better than expected but is now in a nursing home, which she hates and she just wants to die. She has since my grandpa died 25 years ago. Its just so sad.
Then, my test results, showing my poor unborn child is at risk for down syndrome. This is killing me, I know I can handle it, i will have no choice. I will love my baby regardless and my dh is being so good to me. But the thing that hurts the most, is the life my dc will live. People stare, they laugh. It kills me. I know its not even definite yet but I have to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I have a genetic counselor appointment on tuesday, It feels so far away.
Last, my father, who is 70 and has been dealing with heart problems was put in the hospital last night. for the past fewew weeks he has been having episodes where his legs stop working and he cant see, he shakes. He is pretty much paralyzed. and then he passes out. Its happened all over the place. his dr couldnt find a reason, my mom finally took him to the hospital bc she wants a reason.
I have always been a daddys girl. this is killing me. I dont even want to face this. I can not see my dad in a hospital bed. its hard for me to even face the fact hes old.
How much more stress can I handle. all this on top of caring for a very very wild and energetic 2 year old boy.

I truly hope your dad and grandmother get better soon. Tons of and many . From what I read they said there might be a chance that your LO can have it, not a definite so think positive.

Im so sorry that you are going through this. I felt the same way about my grandmother and I too am a daddys girl so I can only imagine what you are feeling, aside from teh anxiety of waiting for your own results ofcourse.
God never gives us more than we can handle, you will get through this and eveyrthing will work out and you will feel more settled! Until then hugs and prayers for you! Wishing everything turns out for the best.
