I got a baby...
What people don't realize is that we are all going to "get a baby". It is not like a crapshoot and I am going to push and get a ham.
My DH has been wonderful. He will make dinner, do the laundry and anything else if he sees I am tired. He massages my feet while watching a movie and ALWAYS asks how I am feeling.
He wants to buy something for me to cherish the moment. We like to buy each other gifts for big moments- anniversarys, birthdays. I will not ask for anything outrageous, but we live comfortably and a necklace will not break the bank.
I was only looking for suggestions....not opinions on push gifts.

then i wouldn't say something like you feel bad for the wives whose husbands think push gifts are silly.
btw, your comment about pushing and getting a ham had me literally laughing out loud!

WOW... ok didn't mean to push a button, I should have rephrased that to say, my husband is clueless to every sense of the word and wouldn't think of something like that even though I mentioned it to him.. He'd say "you got a baby". You are a lucky girl to have a great DH that does all those things for you without having to ask for it..

Re: Push gift
Different strokes for different folks.
Chances are that if you think its silly, DH will think its silly too and vice versa.. there's a reason, after all, that you ended up together.
Most important thing is that if its important to you that DH is on board.
To the OPP, DH is the sentimental type- for my bday, (I was about 12 weeks at the time). He bought me a ring with the baby's birthstone (hopefully, LO comes around his/her expected due date!). I would have never thought of it, or asked for it, or expected it but the thought alone was pretty sweet.
ETA: I am totally jealous of all of the woman who have husbands that do all that stuff for them. I kind of stopped cooking etc and my DH complains about it- but I ignore him- he doesnt understand how I can be tired all the time, really? I want to strangle him sometimes.
