PLEASE HELP.....SO UNCOMFORTABLE
Ok...I have posted this before..I am 23 weeks pregnant and for a week and 1/2 I have had a bad rash ( diagnosed as eczema) well it seemed to be improving but now it looks and feels like an itchy tight red sunburn under my arms, on my chest and neck and underneath my boobs and on the tummy I am so miserable and uncomfortable, I can't wear a bra and the only relief I get is from putting ice packs on my body...I guess it could be the pregnancy thing as to why its not healing but it is simply awful..I am going back to the doctor tonight to see what if ANYTHING can be done for me.
Just wondering if anyone else is or has gone through this and if they were able to find relief in any way ....

Re: PLEASE HELP.....SO UNCOMFORTABLE
About 1 percent of women develop itchy, red bumps and larger patches of a hive-like rash on their bellies in the second half of pregnancy, usually in the last month or two. These irritations are called pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy (PUPPP for short) or polymorphic eruption of pregnancy. They usually show up first on the abdomen around or in stretch marks (if you have any) and then spread to the thighs, the buttocks, and sometimes the arms. They're harmless for you and your baby, but they can itch like crazy!
Your doctor or midwife will want to see you for a diagnosis and will probably prescribe a topical ointment to give you some relief. In severe cases, you may need a course of oral steroids. PUPPP should disappear within a few days after delivery for most women. And fortunately, it seldom happens again in subsequent pregnancies.

Re: PLEASE HELP.....SO UNCOMFORTABLE
Hi. I had the same thing happen to me and it wasn't PUPPS. It was too early in the pregnancy (and too prevalent all over my entire body) to be PUPPS. I was alergic to the prenatals. You should go to a dermatologist and have them check you out. Feel better.

Re: PLEASE HELP.....SO UNCOMFORTABLE
I was diagnosed with eczema a couple of years ago and it started out on my calves, and just got worse from there. I wasnt pregnant though. The doctor put me on steroids, but it was topical. Im not sure if its safe to take during pregnancy.
My eczema got better and is now on one of my shins. I scratch it so much that it bleeds and i hasnt gone away either. Its been there for a year or so. I am just used to it now.
Im sorry that you are going through this. I too had to put cold packs on my body to get some relief. I couldnt even sleep at night. But hang it there!!! I would definitely see a dermotologist. I went and helped a bit. They still dont know what caused such a break out.

Re: PLEASE HELP.....SO UNCOMFORTABLE
I know Princessmaris had PUPPS when she was pregnant. Maybe you can FM her to see if your symptoms are similiar.
