has anyone ever gotten a
BFN and then gotten a positive beta? I wondering if I should even bother going in for my beta. 12 and 13dpiui were both BFN.

It can happen. The beta will show ANY HCG, the test needs a certain amount for a possitive.

I had a negative HPT, but positive (VERY low) beta. It was a chemical, but we wouldn't have known that had I skipped the beta.

I got like a zillion negatives on HPT's and I got a positive beta.. I couldn't even believe Dr. B when he called.. that's how many sticks I peed on!!! .. And now I'm 35 weeks with twins.. it can definitely happen.. that's why I say always go for the beta!!

it has not happened to me but even when I know its a BFN my Dr still wants me to go for blood....

yes, it happened to me, I had a negative home pregnancy test on the day AF was due and I also KNEW I was not pregnant, however, 3 days later had a positive beta, in fact my RE's office told me my numbers were "great"
