Since you dont have a shower with #2, when did you start shopping for things needed?
With DD we found out and everything was pink, now for baby #2, if its a Boy then we need to get a few big things...everyone says not to buy anything until after we come home from the hospital but what have you BTDT mommies do?
Edit to say:: I feel like this question might come off wrong, please dont take it in a bad way, (ex:..looking for gifts)

I personally used everything I had from DS for DD. I know its a little harder to put a boy in pink things, but really, they have no idea.
I put DD in DS's old blue sleepsacks, onesies etc.
What exactly do you need to replace?

I was team green with my first which was great when #2 came along so I didn't need anything (it was all gender neutral) and just purchased new bottles and clothes for her prior to her arrival (we found out it was a girl with her)

Its just bigger things more than anything, like car seat, stroller....I would not have a problem putting the new baby is pjs from DD or anything like that.

Oh! We used the infant seat that DS had used, but we bought a convertible seat when DD was ready to be in one. The stroller, same thing, we used DS's.
Is your infant seat and stroller REALLY girly? Or could you use a blue blanket and he be ok? If you need to buy, honestly, you can go whenever. I don't think there is a point with your second that you have to hold yourself back. (Unless there is a storage/space issue)

We were team for our ds and we are team again this time. So I have some gender neutral clothing and all of our big stuff (car seat, pnp, swing) is neutral. I just made a list of some odds and ends we will need to replace before #2 arrives but I haven't started shopping just yet (I'm 23 weeks). I will get started on that after the summer.

I had same gender #1 and #2 - so I barely bought anything - new nipples, BF supplies, little things
#3 is a different gender, but besides the small things, we have been overwhelmed by people giving us clothes and etc. I would have used the blue carseat for but someone gave us a pink one.

I am still debating when to get the double stroller....before or after DC #2 is here.....I guess I've been putting it off because I haven't really decided which one I want although I'm leaning towards the city mini double or city select.......

Re: Since you dont have a shower with #2, when did you start shopping for things needed?
Just found out the gender today and we will start buying things in Sept. We are due in Dec. This is because we are buying our daughters big girl bedroom stuff then and so the nursery will be empty to repaint and so on. We were Team Green for our shower w/DD so we have all the big things already gender neutral. I say start saving a little now so you don't have a huge cash outflow at one time. At the end of the summer we'll start buying some diapers, bottles, bibs, clothes and so on and just do it slowly so we have everything in time. We are not sharing the gender of this baby and no matter the gender we would be buying this stuff anyway so no need to share the news.
What exactly do you mean by big things? Car seat? Swing, bedding, bouncer? I say get coupons and wait for sales at BRU and depending on when you're due Labor day sales are pretty good!
