Trying not to stress
I am trying so hard not to stress out or worry and I have 11 days until my first appointment.
The other day I asked about really bad morning sickness and vomiting. I was feeling really ill, in bed, dry heaves and vomiting. Yesterday I felt okay during the day and a little sick at night but much better. I was able to eat and drink. Today I feel even better. Almost normal. Usually things pick up at night so I don't know how I will feel later but all around I feel so much better. The best I've felt in over a week.
Do symptoms come and go like this? I should be in my 7th week. My last pregnancy ended somewhere between weeks 7 and 9 and the day before I found out I lost the pregnancy I was feeling pretty good.
Everytime I start to feel normal I worry. Does anyone else worry about this? Feel like this?

Re: Trying not to stress
Yes! I certainly have days where I feel better. I will be 9 weeks on sunday. I went to the beach with DD and my mom on tuesday and I felt pretty good all day. My wise mom said "It's totally OK to feel good, enjoy it!" Had a sono yesterday and baby was moving around....so I don't think you have to feel like death everyday. Symptoms have to subside at some point!

Re: Trying not to stress
my m/s went away around 8 weeks and came back around 10 weeks. i wouldn't worry, but i know it's hard with what you've been through. try to enjoy the fact that you're feeling a little better.

Re: Trying not to stress
Thanks.
I felt so crappy for awhile so I didn't have much time for worrying. Now that I feel okay I'm so scared. I know a lot of it is because of what happened last time. I just feel like logic says my symtpoms should be increasing not decreasing and that freaks me out.

Re: Trying not to stress
first thing I want to say is usually m/s means a good strong pregnancy.
second is, I didn't have a single symptom with my pregnancy and I'm 17.5 weeks now. the only thing I got was really swollen boobs and that happened around 10-12 weeks. no symptoms doesn't mean anything either
Hang in there and just believe everything is fine, until you have something to worry about.
Whenever I would start to worry I would remind myself that even if something went wrong early on, there really wasn't much they could do to stop it, so I would tell myself to stop worrying because its wasted time and that really helped me. hang in there, it will be fine!!

Re: Trying not to stress
In the beginning I had lots of ups and downs. Some days I would feel wonderful and others like a piece of crap...don't stress yourself out...I know its easier said than done!

Re: Trying not to stress
First of all.. and
Second of all... why 11 days until your first appointment? My OB makes his staff book an appointment as SOON as someone knows they're pregnant. He believes this is the most critical time for a pregnancy, so why wait? I'm just surprised that you have to wait 'til your almost 9th week! Especially since you had a previous pregnancy that is causing you some concern - which I could totally understand.
BTW... the very first time I met my OB was that first appointment, and he STILL made it a priority to come in asap. He put me on extra folic acid, baby aspirin and Prometrium (progesterone supplement) immediately.
I see Dr. Pillitteri in Deer Park and LOVE him. Switching to him when I got pregnant was the best thing I EVER did... along with his referral for me to see the peri-natologist Dr. Kofinas, who I thank GOD for!
Good luck!

Re: Trying not to stress
the ob i go to, and worked for for a # of years never rushed patients in right away... they would usually check your bloodwork, but for an actual 1st appointment - they always rathered you wait until 8 weeks or so - they can see and tell what's going on much better. of course if you wanted to go in at 6-7 weeks they wouldn't deny you, but it wasn't a mad rush - so i definitely don't think there is anything wrong with waiting, or with your doctor not having you come in early. that said, i can only imagine the wait must be killing you. i don't have a history of losing a baby and the wait drives me up a wall, every day feels like a week. so i can only imagine. to you. i am sure everything will be just fine. i know what you mean about when you 'feel good' you worry. i was nausous almost every day, all day for the last week or two, so now that it's tapered off to just morning nausea, i start thinking "oh gosh, i hope everything's okay " it's hard to control those feelings... obv we want to feel good, but when it's so early - the symptoms are what reminds us what's happening.

I know everyone has their own opinions on ths, but from my own experience, I just thank God for an OB who errs on the side of caution and would recommend seeing a doctor who wants to see someone who is pregnant right away - rather than waiting.
I truly believe - in my case - it saved my pregnancy. I had low progesterone and lesions in my placenta, so the Prometrium and baby aspirin were VITAL to be on right away. That never would have happened at my old practice or if I had waited.
I hate seeing when girls have their first appt off in the future sometime because I shutter to think what might have happened if I did that.
I'm not trying to scare anyone, just share what I experienced and learned so everyone has a good outcome!

My doctor isn't seeing me until 9 weeks because my first two betas and progesterone testing all came back excellent. High range for everything and more than doubling #s. Also after my loss they ran the miscarriage panel on me (immune, antibody, blood clotting, horomones. etc) and everything came back normal. The only thing I can do now is wait.
I can have an early sonogram but that really won't tell me anything about how the pregnancy will progress over the next few weeks. I had an early sonogram last time at 6 weeks and at 9 weeks there was no heartbeat. Having an early sonogram didn't do anything for me then. Just gave me a false sense of security really. So I rather wait until 9 weeks when I'm past the point of my previous loss. A strong heartbeat at that point is a little more telling than seeing something earlier on.
I just hope that there is something when I go at 9 weeks. I'm afraid I'll go and no baby :(

I'm a big worrier by nature, and I have a new saying that I keep telling myself:
"Worrying is the misuse of imagination."

Well, that's a different story! At least you already have test results! If I were you, all the information you posted would make me feel better! I thought you hadn't seen a doctor at all yet, but I'm glad you have!
Good luck and try not to stress!
