How do you top your burger/hot dog?
I'm a bit of a purist most of the time.
Burger- American cheese, ketchup & pickles (sometimes I like to put both ketchup and mayo)
Dog- Plain! once in while I'll go all out & add sauerkraut, onions and baked beans!
Oh and if I make them at home they MUST be on Martin's potato rolls.
How about you?

Guess I'm anti-purist:
Burger - cheese, mushroom, pickles, ketchup/BBQ
Hot dog - mustard and sauerkraut; an occaisional chilly-cheese dog.
And a good beer - few times I drink beer is with a HD.

I only eat veggie burgers and soy dogs, but here's how I like to top them:
Veggie burger - cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms, mustard, Tabasco. Sometimes a little mayo instead of Tabasco.
Soy dogs - ketchup, mustard, sauerkraut.

Hot Dogs get ketchup, mustard, relish & saurkraut. If sweet onions are there I pile them on too.
I rarely eat burgers but if I do I have to have cheese, ketchup & relish
ETA: I dont do it all the time but DH got me hooked on potato salad on top of a hot dog!

I like hot dogs so many different ways. Sometimes just mustard (but it has to be spicy brown, never yellow) or with saurkraut or sometimes mustard and relish. I very rarely eat burgers, but when I do it is with or without cheese, pickles, onion, ketchup. Oh, and I agree with a pp, must be served on potato rolls!

Burger - depends on my mood and how I make the burger. Sometimes bleu cheese, green goddess dressing and some lettuce and tomato. Sometimes pickle, onion, tomato and american cheese.
Dogs - depends on my mood and what's available. My absolute favorite is mustard, sauerkraut. Sometimes I add a little pickle relish. If there's no sauerkraut I go for the relish. I also really like potato salad and mustard on my dogs. It sounds odd but don't knock it until you try it. And sometimes hot relish or onion sauce.

hot dog: spicy brown mustard, sauerkraut, toasted New England style buns, onions if I have the time to make them
burger: I love burgers. always with at least cheese. love cheese, bbq sauce and pickles. bacon never hurt either.
I dislike ketchup immensely so none for me.

Burger: just cheese and ketchup
Hot Dog: Mustard only. I prefer Gulden's Spicy Brown
If I was choosing the buns/rolls, it'd be Martin's Potato

Hamburger - cheese (cheddar or swiss), lettuce, tomato, red onion, bacon, ketchup or BBQ sauce. sometimes fried onions!
Hot Dog - love Sabretts in the casing with a little ketchup.

Burgers: caramelized onions, beets (try it!), sometimes bacon, and tabasco mixed with mayo on a whole wheat roll. Fried egg is nice sometimes, too  HATE ketchup.
I don't eat hotdogs  . But for a Bratwurst I love some spicy mustard!

Hotdog

Burgers - ketchup only. Although there's a bar near work that has a bbq/mayo sauce that is really good but I could never get just right.
Hot Dogs - plain - grilled is best!

Burger gets either, american, mozz or feta cheese. Red onion sliced super thin salt and pepper.
Hot dog, gets mustard and either red onions or baked beans

my favorite buns are Martins potato rolls for hotdogs and hamburgers, especially their hamburger buns with the sesame seeds on them !
burgers- american cheese and ketchup, occasionaly bacon but only when im out at a restaurant.
hotdogs - must be nathans foot long only and MUST be burnt, ketchup only

I just had a hotdog toppings party-my husband's idea. Everyone that came to the BBQ had to bring a topping with them-we had a variety of toppings, summer fruit relish, reuben, hawaiian, sweet potato fries with cheese, taco, avacodo bacon and tomato, sweet corn relish. It was really fun even if it was a million calories-my weight watcher leader would not be pleased! I thought the best topping was summer fruit relish (papaya, nectarine, red onion, cilantro and kosher salt).
On an average day if I have a hot dog I have mustard and sauerkraut. For burgers, I like tomato, onion and ketchup.

I haven't eaten a hot dog in 20 years so I have no idea! Probably with tons of ketchup.
