37 weeks and i cant get Md appt??
I really like the office and most of the drs, nps and pas that i see. I have no complaints about the actual staff. The problem is that they are sooo busy. I am 37 weeks about now and must go in weekly for monitoring for high risk pregnancy/preclampsia.
The reason why i am upset is that i chose this practice after meeting and really liking the doctor but ive seen her very few times throughout the whole pregnancy since no appt were availabe ( i saw the np or pa instead). I have no problem seeing them at all but i am not comfortable that the last time i saw an MD was at 32 weeks and there are no more appt available with her for the rest of my pregnancy. I have had weekly visits since 31 weeks.
It was really hard to even get an np appt. Is this normal or do you think this practice is too busy? I just cant imagine having a high risk pregnancy and not being able to see an md for the last 2 months of my pregnancy. I think it is too late to switch practices.

Im my opinion that is ridiculous and i would be . I would call and tell them you are upset that you haven't seen your doctor in xx amount of time, especially since you are being monitored for preeclampia, i would imagine they would get you in the see your doc. It might not be too late to switch, you could call around and explain that you are unhappy with your doctor's practice and see if there is a possibility of another doctor being able to deliver you...

I'd be pis$ed, too...
This is the main reason I switched from my previous gynecologist as soon as I got pregnant. I knew getting appointments would be an issue since the staff was so difficult to work with any previous time I needed an appointment. I had a feeling it wouldn't get any better just because I was preggo. Not to mention, the wait at that previous doctor was inevitably more than an hour long!
I'm so glad I switched because I love my doctor now!
Good luck! I would call and speak to the office manager or ask for the doctor to call me back and see if SHE makes the staff squeeze you in.

That would not sit right with me. That is ridiculous. They should be putting you ahead of other patients...not telling you you cant have an appt with the doctor for the rest of your pregnancy. I am soo sorry you are dealing with this. I would ask to speak with the doctor.
