Diaper Bag Contents
I will be 39 weeks on Thursday, so was wondering what I need in my diaper bag? I am going to Target today during lunch so I wanted to pick up some things for it, any suggestions?

I posted this when DD was 3 months old (she's 6 months now, but I thought I'd repost what I had then since it's more applicable to you):
-diapers (in the pampers diaper pouch I got when I registered)
-wipes
-a&d ointment
-aveeno diaper rash cream
-changing pad (came with bag)
-diaper disposal bags (clips on)
-pacifier pouch (clips on)
-hand sanitizer (clips on)
-toy (DD loves the baby einstein music player toy -- it's like $5 but keeps her entertained for hours!)
-wubbanub pacifier
-burp cloth
-blanket (I always take an extra aden & anais blanket with us, but sometimes I drape it over her car seat)
-change of clothes in a ziploc bag (with 2 onesies and a sleep & play)
-extra empty ziploc bags to put wet/dirty clothes in
-bottle (i usually pre-fill it with water for one feeding)
-formula (i have the 4 oz pouches, but also one of those containers you can pre-measure for more than one feeding)
-mylicon (or store brand gas drops)
-coupons
-giant clip to hold the diaper bag on a shopping cart
I have the vera bradley diaper bag and everything fits with room to spare.

When DD was a newborn, I had:
diapers
wipes
2 changing of clothes
diaper cream
bottles
formula dispenser
paci x 2
little pack of tissues
Those Arm & Hammer diaper waste bags (in the diaper aisle) AWESOME invention especially out in public!
My wallet/keys and some snacks if needed.

It varied depending on where we were going, but the staples as a newborn were always:
Diapers
Wipes
Diaper cream
Extra liners for bottles
Change of clothes
2 burp cloths
Little Blanket
Paci
Premeasured formula packets
Bottle of poland spring for making a bottle on the go
Mylicon drops
