Still stumped....spare bedroom
I am going on almost 5 years in my house and still have no clue what to do with my extra bedroom. I attempted an office but we don't use it bc we carry the laptop around the house or use our iPad. I don't want to make it a guest room bc we don't have guests and our sofa in the LR is a pullout anyway. The room is long and narrow. What is left??

Re: Still stumped....spare bedroom
I seriously WISH I had that problem!
How about:
Workout room/home gym?
Library -- Bookshelves, comfortable chairs, buffet for coffee/tea service/cocktails
Hobby Room - Crafts, gift-wrapping, art projects, scrapbooking, etc.
Game Room -- Pool table? Dartboards?
Play Room -- If you have kids and don't already have a dedicated play room area
Walk-in Closet/Dressing area -- I've seen many homes where the smallest bedroom is repurposed as a closet. Personally, I'd love to have a shoe room! Just make sure if you ever put your home on the market, you stage the room as a bedroom again. It really turns buyers off when a bedroom is set up like a closet (emphasizes how small it is).
TV/Media room: If you don't already have that in a den or basement
Theme Room: I have a friend who made part of their basement a Yankees room, and displayed all of his Yankees memorabilia, put in a bar area, a tv, etc. If you have a lot of collectables or something, and you don't want it in a common living area, you could use this room as a theme room.

Re: Still stumped....spare bedroom
If I could do anything I would take the square footage and spread it throughout the rest of the house. The rooms are not large. We have the second bedroom set up as dh's man room/den. We used to talk about making a killer master suite and extending the bathroom into the spare room/walk in. Our seller used the room as an office/closet but we took all the shelving down. There wasn't much of it.
