How much pain is normal after ER?

My ER was yesterday at 1:00.

I'm still in a pretty significant amount of pain and have been since then. Is this okay?

I don't remember feeling like this after my last ER, but I did have almost double the amount of eggs retrieved.

I feel very very sore, my stomach is pretty distended (I look like I did at 4-5 months pregnant!) and I'm just generally pretty achy and uncomfortable. I have been trying to take it easy but that's really difficult with a toddler, so I'm doing my best.

I was in a lot of discomfort and pain too. I had to take tylenol right after. I didn't feel good at all.

With the number of eggs retrieved from you, I would imagine that lingering discomfort/pain is normal. Did the doctor discuss possible OHSS?

Hope it passes soon! Chat Icon

With the # of embies they retrieved, I would definately give the RE a call....

Some of those symptoms "could" be early signs of OHSS ...Are they monitoring your urine output etc..?

I was at risk of OHSS and was monitored very closely (its nothing to mess around with)and can be further aggravated if you do get pg. this cycle..

Feel better and good luck !!Chat Icon

Thanks girls!

I still really feel like crap today.

I did a Lupron release with an HCG boost so they said that I really shouldn't get OHSS, but to drink gatorade and monitor my weight.

I gained 2 lbs since yesterday. Is that bad or no?

I just want to feel good enough for my transfer!!!

As someone who developed OHSS twice it is nothing to mess with. First time 24 eggs were retrieved and second time (when I became pregnant) 14 eggs were retrieved. I am now 19 weeks and my ovaries are still swollen - although they have come down quite a bit. If I were you I would call your doctor. I did not gain any weight but I did drink gatorade, V8 and limited my intake of water. Feel better!!!
