Patio Furniture - Cushions Question
Hi!
What do you do with your pillows to your Patio Furniture or decorative items when you're not using them.
Do you take the pillows and store them somewhere? or just leave them on - if so, does the rain ruin them?
DH is anal about keeping the plastic bag that the umbrella came in over the pretty umbrella and takes all of the cushions and leaves them inside my kitchen - it drives me bananas.
I just recently convinced him to take the plastic off of the umbrella but now i'm worried that if it gets dirty, he'll kill me lol
What do you ladies do? My patio set looks so plain without the cushions!!
(side note - I was thinking of getting a teak box to match the set and put the cushions on there but i'm worried about bugs getting in the box, ICK!)

Re: Patio Furniture - Cushions Question
we have a couch, 2 chairs and 2 ottomans that have custions. We have covers for these pieces that we used during the summer. In the winter, i bought these big cushion storage bags and we put the cushions in there an store them in the shed for the winter.
I wouldnt suggest leaving them out without some sort of protection. Even thought they say weather proof, they will still get wet and moldy.
Your idea of a storage truck is great. Get one of the plastic ones you can sit on like at HD. I dont think you will have a bug issue with them.

We leave them out unless I know it's going to rain, than I put all the cushions in the shed.

Re: Patio Furniture - Cushions Question
We bought one of the plastic deck boxes and put the cushions in it. It is not the best looking thing on the deck, but it keeps the cushions clean and dry.

Re: Patio Furniture - Cushions Question
We keep the cushions in our mudroom and mudroom closet in the summer. We never leave them outside over night.
In the winter we put them in the attic.
Yes its a pain, but if we have everyone pitch in at the end of the night, it takes literally 10 minutes.
We have furniture and cushions from Restoration Hardware and they are super $$ so we want to keep them looking brand new

Re: Patio Furniture - Cushions Question
DH is a pain in the a$$ about this. If it were up to me, I'd leave them out with our furniture covers on them. DH doesn't "trust" this and so he keeps them in some chest that's on wheels in the shed. However, it's a giant PAIN to take them out of the shed, all the way across the yard and up on the deck. I just bought a plastic deck box from home depot a couple of weeks ago and keep at least some of them in there so I can sit out whenever I want.
DH must have gone in there recently because when I took them out yesterday, the cushions were inside hefty bags inside the deck box!
