First birthday themes for boys
Now that DS's christening has come and gone, I want to start thinking of ideas for a 1st bday party. I have tons of time but I'm a planner and love to organize parties so I want to look into what I can possibly put together for his 1st bday.
What are some good themes for a boys 1st bday?
Sesame street comes to mind, any other good/fun ones?

We did a safari theme. I happened to find an adorable safari "ranger" outfit at Janie and Jack while planning so I took it as a sign I loved it!
ETA: I thought of doing a barnyard theme but decided to save it for when he was a little older and could really appreciate the real live animals I'd want to have at his party. Can't wait to do this one!

we're doing mickey mouse clubhouse. DS just loves mickey so we went with that 
any shows, characters, or books your DS likes? you could go with one of those

Cookie Monster - everything was blue, white, and brown. I didn't buy any commercial Sesame Street stuff to pull it off either (most is Elmo-oriented anyway) I just decorated with the theme's colors. Favors were chocolate chip cookies in brown paper bags. I did make a few things with Cookie's image with DS's name on it. I got lots of ideas from Etsy.com

Transportation theme. DS obsessed with every form of motorized, flying or wheeled moving thing.
Cars, Trains, Helicopters, Planes, Firetrucks...

For DS1 it was Rollie Pollie Ollie
For DS2 it will be Yo Gabba Gabba!

I did Baby Einstein. It was really the only character thing he was into at the time. I made a lot of things myself so it was fun and colorful to put together.

We did Yo Gabba Gabba. I made a ton of stuff for the party, has a custom cake made and it turned out pretty nicely.

We did a Tonka trucks/ construction theme. My boys LOVE their Tonka trucks. I just bought blue, red and yellow paper goods and balloons. I also bought a bunch of "construction" decorations from Party City and found some cheap little trucks to put on the tables. I used this invite as my guide.
