The acid in the tomatoes causes BPA to leach from the lining of the can.

I read some stuff on here actually. I don't think anything has changed, but someone was talking about the canning process and how it's unhealthy and we should switch to organic, uncanned tomatoes.
I just wanted to find out what the actual problem was.

Muir Glenn starting using enamel in their cans so they are now BPA free (they're also a organic and delish which is a huge plus!)

I didn't know this! I can't live without canned tomatoes. How else would I get san marzanos without flying myself to italy. LOLOL. Maybe one of those brands will start being BPA free! I hope!
