backsplash

How much did you spend on your backsplash? My kitchen is fairly large (U-shaped). Do you think a budget of $1500 is reasonable, too much or too little? I have no clue. I am thinking of doing something like this poster's kitchen:

is this just tile or installation? with detailed work alone like that...it could be pricey...we have a fairly small kitchen and with 33 square feet of backspalsh, with the tile, it was about that. we just have small medallions placed in various spots thorugh the 6 by 6 tiles...

i think you need to budget more...
