Piping canned frosting
I am attempting to make cupcakes for the 4th of July and would rather pipe the frosting on than use a knife.
Has anyone ever piped on canned frosting? Any recommendations?
TIA!!

No real tips...just put the frosting in a piping bag with a fun tip and go crazy. I do find that it uses more frosting, so make sure you have extra.

Re: Piping canned frosting
Canned frosting doesn't really pipe well.
Basic buttercream is so easy to make and will hold its shape on cupcakes etc. It's also tastier

Re: Piping canned frosting
It works fine...it helps if it is a little colder than room temp. so you might want to put it in the fridge for a little bit.

Agreed. The Wilton frosting you buy at Michael's is okay to pipe, but you are better off just making your own. It's actually incredibly easy.
This is a great tutorial/recipe. Whenever I make buttercream it's literally just butter and confectioner's sugar with a little vanilla extract.
