getting really annoyed
about a week ago my mom called and said her GF said the baby can't come yet and i'd better cross my legs. and my mom chimes in to wait til after my moms Bday (July 2nd)
since then my mom keeps "half joking" that "the baby can't come yet". and its really starting to piss me off.
I'm assuming the reason why they want to hold off is so they can spend her bday together before she has to come here for baby's birth...but I'm sick of hearing it!!! not like she hasn't had 48 other birthdays in her lifetime. I can't imagine anything they plan to do together can top the birth of her first friggin grandchild.
not like i could control this babys arrival anyway but its just really starting to get annoying bc first it was my sister telling me "you can't have this baby until i get back from my vacation" and SIL saying "well we can't have him come on the 21st" because thats her sons bday and "we don't want them to have the same birthday" and now my mom...
ugh, I'm so glad everyone thinks its all about them!!!
sorry for the rant...i obviously needed to let that out.

ugh no sooner that i wrote this did my mom call my cell phone to say "nooooo the baby can't come." I'm GONNA ***** LOSE IT!

Tell her that you will not be letting her know when you are admitted to the hospital. That she is causing you STRESS.

I'm sorry. I am a "benefit of the doubt" kind of person, so I would assume that she is joking, but after all of the comments from the rest of your family I can see how it is upsetting.
When I told my dad about my pregnancy and when I'm due (Jan 27th) he kindly pointed out that if I go late that could interfere with Superbowl Sunday. . .

OMG re: superbowl sunday  i do think she's HALF JOKING. but knowing my mom...she goes to her camper every weekend to go 4 wheeling and whatnot...so I'm sure she's probrably hoping to get her birthday weekend in so she can do one last round of 4 wheeling and drinks with her friends before she comes.

I would tell her if she really doesn't want it to be that day then if it happens that weekend you won't let her know! And you can say it "half joking!"
I would be annoyed too. I've only gotten one comment like that from DH's grandfather that I need to have this baby on July 4th. But he calls me "Skinny" when he sees me, so it balances out!

I get SO many comments, I can relate! I would tell her next time she says it "don't worry mom, even if this baby does come early, I won't let it interfere with your bday weekend!"
