elastic shorts
i am very newly pregnant - will only be 3 months in august so i wasn't sure if i needed maternity shorts but i wanted to get some elastic shorts. i saw some on old navy and the gap sites that were maternity and elastic. if im not showing yet will they be too saggy and big?
im looking for some basic things to get me through the summer. im also running after toddlers so skirts dont always work.

Re: elastic shorts
I got a bunch of shorts at Old Navy....they are sooo comfy! I have around 2 more months to go...so these sit right under my belly...but they are really nice!!!

Re: elastic shorts
I am due July 19 and still wearing non-maternity clothes. In fact I have only worn 2 pairs of maternity jeans and 1 pair of maternity khakis (for work that I hate bc they fall down) the past 36 1/2 weeks.
My go-to bottoms for summer:
Non-maternity cargo bermuda shorts from Old Navy. They have an elastic waist and drawstring.
Basketball shorts
Gauchos
Leggings

Re: elastic shorts
If you're not showing yet, it shouldn't be a problem to buy something that fits you now. Comfy shorts with elastic and drawstring can just sit lower around your hips once you have a belly.
I have a pair of non-maternity elastic/drawstring pants from the Gap that I wear all the time (I'm 31 weeks now). They used to sit on my waist, now they're under my "bump", and they are super comfy and look right on me.

Re: elastic shorts
Don't be too eager to get into maternity clothes if you don't have to. I'm 36 weeks and own all of 3 pairs of maternity bottoms (bought at Kohls) and 2 maternity shirts (bought at Old Navy). Otherwise everything I wear is non-maternity. There are so many non-maternity styles that should still be able to fit a preggo. Maxi dresses are my summer staple...they are so incredibly comfortable and look great on a preggo belly! Old Navy long tanks are great as well. 'So Low' leggings are perfect as well because they can be folded down as low as you need. Same thing for shorts, anything really low rise that' non-maternity I find comfortable. I just tried as much to get stuff that I'll still be able to wear afterward and it doesn't scream maternity clothes!
