Treating PCOS when not TTC?
Just wondering what kind of doctor treats your PCOS when not TTC. Do you see and endocrinologist? A Gyn? I do not want to be on BCP...I am so done with drugs/hormones but I want to better manage my PCOS now that we are out of the TTC mode (for now). Any suggestions of good docs that REALLY understand PCOS? TIA!

I would suggest this, or even just asking your RE to continue your metformin prescription. I went on metformin in college, years before we were TTC--- using an RE. You can either ask him to send your for bloodwork every so often, or ask your GP. I had a regular endocronologist, but felt they didn't really understand PCOS and I saw 2 different ones. HTH!

agreed! I went back on my metformin anyway. I found out that it has no effects on BF which I recently stopped anyway. Until I run out of prescriptions, then I'll probably ask my OBGYN...?

Re: Treating PCOS when not TTC?
Tx. I have had a bad run with most doctors just not "getting it" when it comes to PCOS. Maybe I'll try an endo this time esp. since I had thyroid issues dx while TTC. Anyone see anyone worth while?

Re: Treating PCOS when not TTC?
I've seen 2 over the yearss when not TTC. One was either Goldberg or Goldenberg in Westhampton (Westhampton Beach?) and the other was either Jardin or Jardine (I think)- in Stony Brook/Setauket, they were so long ago but I'm pretty sure that's it. The 2nd one is a female, the 1st a male. HTH!
