Re: Aflac??
I don't have it but considered getting it a few years back (my current employer offers it). I've met with several of the AFLAC reps and my job still offers it, so I might be able to help.
FYI - the reason I chose not to get it was because everybody who had it had problems and it took forever for them to be reimbursed. Seemed like more of a hassle than it was worth.

Re: Aflac??
I have it. I have a policy that pays 80% of my salary, after a 2wk wait. I can also collect disability at the same time as collecting AFLAC. The money is taken out of my paycheck after tax, so I do not have to pay tax on the disbursements. I was also told that I would have to wait 10 months after signing to get pregnant. For me it was over a year, so that is not an issue.

Re: Aflac??
I heard you have to wait one month before getting pregnant, that you cannot collect until 10 months later (1 month plus 9 prego). My cousin sells the insurance I can check with her.

I will start with it July 1st but now I guess what I have to do is put off a month of TTC

Re: Aflac??
I have something similar to Aflac and will be canceling after my maternity leave. DH and I figured it out and in the end it's not worth it. I pay $25 a week for it. If you have a vaginal birth you only can technically be on disability for 5 weeks so some plans you do not start getting paid until after the first week or second week of disability. Mine is after the first. So I would only be getting 4 weeks from my plan. So in the long run I have put in way more then I will get back. If your plan does not start until after the second week you would only get 3 weeks of pay.
Each plan is different some pay up to 80% of pay or some will pay up to a certain dollar amount. Mine pays up to $1500 a month.
I think it's good if you have the extra money but there are a lot of things I could do with an extra $100 a month. I could also put it into the bank and have it collect interest or put it towards my 401k.
If I had the extra money I would keep it but for me right now it's not worth it.
