sinoff on my IUI to IVF post

Those of you who have done IVF, can you share with me how it all works? I have my apt on Friday to discuss this with my dr, but I was hoping to have some idea before I go.

Well everyone's different and it depends on the protocol you follow. I didn't do Lupron which I know a lot of people do. But I started birth control on cd 3 and went in for a sono that day. I can't remember how long I was on bcp. I went in for a few sono's during that time. After stopping bcp. I waited three days, then I started stimming. I used follistim and adding menopur at some point. (these are both injections) during this time I was pretty much going ever few days for blood work and sono. Finally when I was getting closer to the end I started ganerlix to keep me from ovulating on my own. Once my doctor felt my folicles were the right size. I took the hcg ( tigger shot) and about 36 hours later I had the retrieval. I was put to sleep for that and for me it was pretty painless. I got my feritilization report the next day. And ended up doing a 5 day transfer.
