New here
Hi girls ... I was diagnosed with PCOS a long time ago. I do not get my period on my own. I have to take Provera to bring it on. Im not producing eggs and my husband and I wanted to start trying this October.
Has anyone been on Clomid? Does this help to produce eggs? Should I talk to a dr. about going on it now? I have seen Dr. Braverman and he put me on Metformin with hopes it would help me to start ovulating. It hasnt worked unfort.
Thanks for any info :)

Re: New here
with anovulatory PCOS clomid may or may not work at all. its really 50-50. if you are seeing dr. B he generally uses femara instead of clomid because clomid has some nasty side effects like thinning the uterine lining and less CM. you only need to go on clomid or femara in the cycles you want to actively TTC, since you only take the meds for 5-7 days early in the cycle - they arent meds that you are on continuously. good luck!

Re: New here
Welcome- hope your stay is short! I have PCOS as well. If you are not TTC yet, you may want to consider going on BCP until you are ready to start. The doc told me it is actually good to start TTC right after going off of it (I cant remember why) and you won't have to worry about irregular periods in the meantime.
I met with my doc in March, started metformin and BCP. We were ready to start TTC in April, so I began with Femara (not Clomid) and that didnt work for me so we are now on injectibles and we did our first IUI last week.

Re: New here
I also have PCOS and wasn't ovulating on my own. Dr. b had me on metformin and then we started a cycle with femara (instead of clomid) to get me ovulating. I was very lucky in that it worked first cycle, but everyone is different in how they respond (if at all) to clomid/femara. It sometimes just takes playing with the dosages or adding injectibles. Good luck!
