Airlines
So does anyone have them figured out. I feel like there is no rhyme or reason to the listed airfares. Has anyone figured out when is the best time to book? How to get a lower price? Any suggestions/help would be appreciated!!
We are looking to head to Orlando (MCO) in December.
Thank you all!!!

Re: Airlines
I have experienced lower fares buying tickets midweek vs the weekend.
Sights like Kayak.com will do a fare watcher for you and email current fares at what ever frequency you set.
If you are going to Orlando anywhere around Christmas/New Years, I would book as soon as you come across something that seems reasonable since it's a high volume travel time.

Re: Airlines
My experience is you really have to do your homework these days to find the best airfare. Some suggestions....
As the PP said, *usually* you will find fares lower mid-week vs weekends
Booking further out can net you a lower airfare initially, and when booking any flights around the holidays or other peak travel times it is a pretty solid idea.
Start off with a site like kayak.com, but remember that checking more than one site of this kind is crucial. There are many low-cost airlines that kayak does not deal with so they will not always show the lowest airfare.
Check what airlines fly out of the airport(s) of your choice and where budget airlines are concerned, check directly on their website. Again, many of these are not included by search engines such as kayak.com.
When flying into Orlando, look at alternative airports such as Orlando/Sanford. It is about 60-90 minutes away from the theme parks, so you would need a rental car unless you wanted to pay for ground transfers ($200-$250 the last I looked), but the airport is MUCH easier to navigate than MCO and the savings on airfare could be significant.
Hope that helps.

Re: Airlines
Tuesdays at 3pm is when the rates are lowered. They will usually shoot back up later that night or by the next morning.
