grocery trips

When you put together a shopping list for the week, how many supermarkets do you usually have to go to to get everything?

Lately I have been trying to make simple lists, but I still find we have to go to 2-3 markets to get everything. Im just getting so annoyed with this. Am I the only one? LOL. I wish they stocked the markets a bit better. Chat Icon

Re: grocery trips

I have no patience to go to more than one weekly. We do hit up some others once a month to get speciality items or meats (BJs, Trader Joes, Target, Uncle Giuseppe's).

Thats how I feel! Even the stop and shop that I like never has everything. Like this weekend I wanted fresh fish - they don't have a fish market in the store. ??? And their cilantro looked all brown. I went to another market. They ahd the fish, but not the cilantro. Had to go to a third market to get the cilantro. LOL these are all very basic things!

I wish I lived closer to Fairway!! That market is great! I get so envious of the nice supermarkets when I go back home or visit family in other states.

I do not have the patience to go to more than one! I usually pick based on who has the best deals on meat for the week.

However, this week it was stop and shop for a first time in a very long time. I went yesterday and the meat bins were basically empty!Chat Icon I was so annoyed and am still upset bc I'll have to go tomorrow again. Normally I would just adjust my menu but I committed to something for a pot luck. I hate the S&S by me bc this happen all the time!

Re: grocery trips

I go to a few different places for a few different reasons:

BJs (once every 2-3 months) for paper goods, household items, meat

Stop and Shop: weekly for my basics (fruit, dairy, bread, etc)

Target: every other week for certain canned and frozen goods that are cheaper

Trader Joe's: every other week for the stuff I can't get every where else.

I usually end up at 2 different stores any given week.

I go to 2 places. One for organic and all natural products and then either Stop & Shop or King Kullen to fill in the gaps.

I am insane and have like a food shopping addiction so don't base it on me Chat Icon

I am usually in a store every day after work.

I frequent the vegatable store, an Italian speciality store, and two supermarkets. Of course there are times I am also at the fish market, a deli where I like getting cold cuts, and ANOTHER vegtable store.

I have never been able to get all my shopping done at one store - except maybe Whole Foods, but I don't live close enough to one to go all the time.
I live close to Trader Joe's and I go there 2 to 3 times a week. I get boxes of organics delivered and I also go the the organic farm down the road from me once a week. I also go to Stop and Shop and Costco for things I can't get at the aforementioned.

Re: grocery trips

I only go to ShopRite. If something isn't there that week I just alter my menu plan. Not a huge deal for me Chat Icon
