attached because detatched usually cuts into your back yard space.

When we were looking at houses, we definitely preferred to se attached garages. It was a nice idea to think we could pull into a garage on a rainy or snowy day and get right into the house without having to be outside. (Sure, our garage is so full of cr@p right now you can't fit a car in it, but it's a nice idea...  )

We would only look at houses with 2 car garages - we wanted both cars in a garage. We would have preferred it to be attached, but it was not a requirement.
