What would you do? (work related)

Currently I'm a SAHM to a 15 month old son. I work p/t as a consultant usually about 1-2 times a week. I earn about 1-2K a month for this job. Taxes are not taken out. My DH has a great job with excellent perks/benefits.

My DH and I are in the process of selling our house in Queens. We are looking to move out to Suffolk to give our son a better life and education. We will sell our house for a nice penny that will enable us to buy our next home outright and pay off our current mortgage. But with a bigger house comes more bills and taxes.

Here's my dilemma. I interviewed for a position with the state offices in Hauppauge. The pay is good but 1/2 would end of going to daycare. I don't need the benefits so this would be more for my sanity. We don't plan on having more kids for 2 years.

What would you do? Would you take the job? I'm concerned about financially becoming strapped once we move to a new house. Would you try to make it and struggle?

Any thoughts would be appreciated?

If you want to work out of the house for sanity sake I would do it. Even to take home half is pretty good. I also feel there are a lot of benefits to children's development by being in daycare.Good Luck what ever you decide!Chat Icon
