bleeding on the pill?
I started the pill about a week and a half ago and I'm bleeding this morning, almost like the start of a period!!  
Has anyone else had this happen on the pill?

That happened to me. I had a heavy bleed about a week or two after starting pill. It only lasted a day or two, but then I spotted here and there for another week, but now I'm fine and haven't bled again.

I bled from about 10 days on when I was on the pill - it was definetely heavier than spotting - it was breakthrough bleeding.
I called the doctor and he said it was totally normal and fine - the pill is still doing what it is supposed to do.
No worries!!!

R u taking it at the same exact time every day? I had that problem if I missed a day or took it an hour late

I don't ...... I usually just take it around the same time, like right before I go to sleep- which can be like a 3hr range.
In all the times I was on the pill, I always took it that way... never at the exact same time. If this is what's causing the bleeding, I guess every pill is different.
Thank you ladies!!! At least now I know not to panic! I thought I was getting AF and was wondering how that was possible!!

When I went onto the pill I had breakthrough bleeding mid-month. I changed to a different pill but still had it. They say it should go away after 3 months. Mine got lighter each month and went away completely after 6 months. Anyway, my point is - it's just your body adjusting to the new hormones you're feeding it.

By this point .. Since November '09 my body has been through... the pill.. fertility drugs... pregnant for several months... not pregnant .. fertility drugs.... pregnant for 5 mins... the pill.... fertility drugs.... the pill.... pregnant till almost 8wks.. not pregnant ... then the pill again.
My body should be used to the constant confusion by now!!!

I bleed almost the whole time on the pill. I think it started after the first week. I heard it was normal but to me it was so annoying!!

I sold birth control so I can say that a heavy bleed isn't normal right off the bat,a little spotting totally is....some women get breakthrough bleeding getting adjusted to it...mid month and sometimes it can seem even heavy....some pills work better than others too....don't sweat it.....

Thanks It has tapered off for now.
I noticed a pattern. I have some issue.. Email Dr.B .. and before I even hear back from him I don't have the issue anymore!! 
ETA: With that in mind, I should email him about not being able to get pregnant easily or stay pregnant!!

Glad I just found this post. I'm just about to finish week 2 of BCP and yesterday and today I've been bleeding lightly (more than spotting). I was worried b/c my nurse said this type of BCP wouldn't cause breakthrough bleeding. But, reading this thread, it sounds normal!
