restaurants in Boston?
DH and I are going to Boston this weekend, any recommendations on where to eat? We are staying near the North End so I want to try some of the great Italian restaurants there but there are so many to choose from! Any help would be much appreciated, TIA!

taranta is very good -italian fusion Ristorante Fiore - more classic but really good italian - both in north end
fun places for drinks near north end - Tia's on christopher columbus park and the living room -also good for brunch
other fun restaruants are 28 degrees in south end -also sibling rivarly city table in back bay is good too
sonsie is also good for brunch in the back bay

Re: restaurants in Boston?
My FAVORITE PLACE in Boston is Mike's pastry's in the North End!!! The best green almond paste cookies, pignoli cookies, cannoli's!!! The line on the weekends is always out the door...BUT WORTH THE WAIT!!!! I make my sister bring them down when she comes in to visit. Or I must admit....You can order online for next day shipping...( and we did)!
The restaurant I love there, is Stephanie's on Newbury! The food is DELISH!!!

My favorite restaurant in the North End is Al Dente...they have the best homemade pasta and vodka sauce...one of their special appetizers are these outrageous spinach crepes in a parmesean cream sauce...and definitely Mike's Pastry...way better than Modern and usually a little bit shorter of a line!

Re: restaurants in Boston?
Not in the North End, in East Boston, but Santarpio's makes awesome pizza
Pomodoro's used to be great, but a quick look online and looks like they've gone downhill a bit.
Also, not italian but great places to eat:
Kingfish Hall in Faneuil Hall Top of the Hub at the Pru Fire & Ice D.ic.k's Last Resort is a fun night out too. Black Rose in Faneuil Hall is a bar at night, but they have great food for lunch.
If you have a car and want some stuff that is great local food and yet touristy at the same time Kelly's on Revere Beach Hilltop Steak House on Rt 1 in Saugus Clam Box - Ipswich MA Woodman's - Essex 1640 Hart House - Ipswich

Re: restaurants in Boston?
Go to Finale for desserts! It's located right by the Park Plaze hotel.

We just got back and Al Dente was amazing! Based on your rec, we got the spinach crepes and they were the best thing I ate all weekend (with the exception of the cannoli's from both Modern AND Mikes of course)! Thanks!

Re: restaurants in Boston?
Not italian but there is an awesome thai restaurant right across the street from The Pru on Boyleston. I forget the name but you go down a few stairs - it's the only thai place on the block.
