preemie and BF

So, there is a possibilty my baby will be delievered prematurely. Were you still able to BF if your baby was in the NICU? I am concerned about latching and being about to BF if the baby is in the NICU. I am trying to prepare myself for a possible c-section and NICU baby.

My cousin just had a NICU preemie last month...she was able to pump and the baby was given breastmilk during her stay.

When she returned home, she continued to pump b/c the baby had not developed its ability to suck and it had to be fed thru some oral tube contraption (nothing invasive). Her doctor said in time the baby will be able to BF normally.
